Buenos Aires – Don’t Miss These Experiences

I lived in BsAs for 9 years, plus occasionally return, so these are my experiences not to miss.

🍨Notice that Dulce De Leche is prevalent in Argentina? Just make sure you have some in ANY form. For example ice cream, alfajores, pastries, a tub of it with a croissant (media luna).

🍷Two nice rooftop bars to try out are Cielo Sky Bar” with a view of the Obelisk, and “Florida 165 Rooftop Bar” with a view of several cool coppolas.

💰San Telmo Market has something for everyone, and plus it’s so photogenic. There are antiques, art and handicrafts. Bring cash, though, since most vendors don’t take credit cards. This is only open on Sundays.

El Ateneo Grand Splendid is a historic theater that has been converted into a bookstore. Stunning!

💃You COULD go to a tango show/dinner combo, but I find that the food is usually not that great, plus you’re spending HOURS watching tango. Hence my recommendation to see it in the streets of La Boca.

The Recoleta Cemetery is unforgettable. It’s like a little city of very ornate mausoleums. Evita Peron and other famous Argentines are buried there. The neighborhood around it has lots of restaurants, shops and bars to explore.

🚣‍♂️La Boca is a colorful neighborhood due to originally using leftover boat paint to paint the houses in what was once a fishing town.

A traditional barbecue (asado). If you see lamb on a spit in the window of a restaurant GO IN THERE!

Try a Choripan. It’s a chorizo sandwich with French bread. You won’t be sorry.

🛍️Calle Florida is a super long pedestrian street. The more high end stores are up closer to Plaza San Martin.
