Scandinavia – 14 Day Itinerary to Denmark, Sweden and Norway
I realize I’m missing Finland in this Scandinavia itinerary. If you have more time, then definitely add that to your schedule. But we did this 14 day trip while we were still working, and didn’t feel we had enough time to explore a 4th country in these 2 weeks. Here is what we recommend for each of these countries:

🇩🇰2 Days in COPENHAGEN, DENMARK
-Nyhavn – All the colorful buildings along a canal, this is so picturesque!
-The Little Mermaid Statue – It’s small size is slightly underwhelming, but it’s an iconic statue.
-The Round Tower, with its curved internal ramp, is so cool.
-Tivoli Gardens – The world’s second-oldest amusement park, opened in 1843.
🚊to 1 Day in GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN
– This train goes via the famous Øresund Bridge between Denmark and Sweden. I dips down into the water partway and becomes a tunnel.
-Feskekörka (Fish Church) – a Fish Market and so much more.
-Islands in Archipelago – take a boat ride to one of the islands for the day and stroll around like a local, and have “pika” (coffee break).
-Volvo Museum – If you’re an auto enthusiast, don’t miss this.
✈️ to 4 Days in STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN
-Vasa Ship Museum – Why go to a museum with a ship that sank the first day it sailed? Because it’s such a well-preserved Swedish war ship from the 1600s. The craftsmanship is mind-boggling.
-Royal Palace, which is still actively used by the royal family!
-ABBA Museum, frankly a MUST.
-Gamla Stan (Old Town) – Adorable cobblestoned pedestrian streets filled with restaurants, cafes, and shops.
-Ice Bar – One of the 6 coolest Ice Bars in the world.
✈️ to 2 Days in OSLO, NORWAY
-National Museum – among other notable art, has the Edvard Munch Scream painting.
-Historical Museum – since the Viking Ship Museum is closed until 2027, I would go to this one instead to learn about the Viking history.
-Vigeland Park, filled with hundreds of statues celebrating the naked human form.
🚊to 2 Days in FLåM, NORWAY
-Go from Oslo to Bergen via Flåm, via train and boat.
-The most scenic train ride ever, with waterfalls, valleys, mountains.
-Fjords! We stayed at Fjordhutten, one of the red cabins overlooking the fjord in Flåm.
⛴️🚎🚊to 3 Days in BERGEN, NORWAY
-Bryggen, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the iconic Hanseatic wharf and buildings from the Middle Ages.
-Fløibanen furnicular, which takes you up a mountain for fantastic views and a coffee house.
-Fish Market – even if you’re not in the market for fish, this is a sight to behold.
