Remember hearing that oysters are only in season during months ending in R? Well that is a bit outdated, and they can really be enjoyed year-round. They do tend to be a bit meatier during the cooler months, though. This is because they grow more slowly in cooler water. So from September through April they grow bigger and are therefore considered more succulent. But there’s nothing wrong with enjoying them any time of the year.

We are lucky enough to be staying near them, and went to Sassy Bass Amazing Grill to have some raw and also baked oysters on the half shell. SO GOOD!!
