An Estancia Near Buenos Aires – Get Pampered and Ride Horses
Estancia El Ombu is a 740 acre working ranch about 1.5 hrs outside of Buenos Aires. We stayed a couple nights, but you can also visit and experience “el campo” for the day. I can’t think of a more relaxing way to spend time. After a whirlwind (self-planned) tour of the far ends of Argentina it was so restorative to be waited on hand and foot at this luxurious Estancia.

➡️The asado (barbecue) was phenomenal. They start with native Espinillo wood in the morning and use the embers to slowly grill all the meats for an early afternoon main meal under the trees.
➡️ Live music and a horse whispering show start after the meal. They explained how the Spanish settlers brought horses, and the natives fell in love with them. Rather than breaking a horse they earn its trust. This demonstration shows the mutual trust.
➡️ Horseback rides are offered at least twice per day. Carriage rides are also an option. Riding throughout the vast property we saw not just horses and cattle, but also parrots, falcons, doves, jackrabbits, an iguana and a capybara.
➡️2 pools are available for relaxing and cooling off.
➡️ A slightly lighter meal is provided around 8:30pm under the stars, with tablecloths on the tables.
➡️Pool table, games, soccer field and volleyball provide additional entertainment.
